How can I submit bids?

Binding bids for vehicles can be entered via defined bidding steps (generally € 100, € 200 and € 300) or via a corresponding field. A bidding agent can also be used, which will join in the bidding for you up to the desired price. In addition, you can submit these bids both in the vehicle overview and in the detailed view of the vehicle.

How does a Fixbid auction work?

As soon as the auction has been placed online, you can search for your desired vehicle in the auction as often as you wish up to the auction date stated, bid on the vehicles you have selected, add them to your viewed list or also make a note about the relevant vehicle.

How does a Multibid auction work?

The Multibid form of auction operates until the end of the time stated (auction date), just like a Fixbid auction. Approximately one minute after the period has expired, the so-called Multibid phase will then start automatically, during which you can bid on up to three vehicles simultaneously. You now have approximately 15 seconds to make a higher bid than the current bid. If the time has expired and no other bidder has exceeded your bid, you will be successful, provided that the start price has been reached. If another bidder has placed a higher bid than you, the Multibid phase starts again and there will be another 15 seconds for you to submit your bid. The highest bidder will be successful.

What happens with Direct-Deal?

With Direct-Deal you have the opportunity to make a binding purchase of a vehicle at a fixed price, without having to wait until the end of the auction. The Direct-Deal is possible only before the start of the Multibid phase. It can no longer be triggered during the Multibid phase.

You can trigger the Direct-Deal by:

  • using the button intended for this purpose
  • submitting a bid or
  • appointing a bidding agent

The level of the bid submitted or the bidding agent appointed at the same level as the Direct-Deal price triggers a Direct-Deal for the vehicle if the vehicle with a bid shows a Direct-Deal price at this level.

What is a bidding agent?

The bidding agent bids for you up to the maximum bid you have entered. If another bidder therefore submits a bid, your bidding agent automatically bids higher by the next higher bidding step, until your bidding limit has been reached. This also applies to the Multibid phase. The bidding agent can however only be activated before the start of the Multibid phase and only if you are not the highest bidder at this time. If a vehicle shows a Direct-Deal in a Multibid auction, then please note that submitting a bidding agent will trigger a Direct-Deal if the bidding agent bids at the Direct-Deal price.

How can I track the vehicles on which I have placed bids?

You can identify all the vehicles on which you have placed a bid by the blue “bidding hammer” icon in the vehicle overview and the detailed view. As usual, you will also find these vehicles in your “My Autobid.de” overview of vehicles on which you have placed bids. You can reach this overview by clicking the “Vehicles with bids” menu item.

How can I track the vehicles I have viewed?

You can identify all the vehicles which you have viewed by the completed “Viewed” icon (eye) in the vehicle overview and the detailed view. As usual, you will also find these vehicles in your “My Autobid.de” overview of vehicles you have viewed. You can reach this overview by clicking the “Viewed vehicles” menu item.

When has my bid for a vehicle been successful?

You have been successful in buying a vehicle if the auction has ended and you are the highest bidder, the price is above the start price and you have received a purchase confirmation email. If the vehicle is subject to a reserve price, the supplier will decide whether to sell the vehicle at this price. Your bid also remains binding in the case of a reserve price. You will then be notified by email whether it has been released.

What is a start price?

The start price is the price at which a vehicle will definitely be sold. However, there is the opportunity to place bids under the start price. You can see the level at which the first bids can be set on the auction page. If the auction has ended and the highest bid is under the start price, the vehicle is under reserve. The supplier can then decide whether he will release the vehicle or refuse the price of the bid. Clarification regarding vehicles under reserve can take a maximum of 72 hours. Your bid also remains binding if it is subject to a reserve.

What is a minimum bid?

A minimum bid is the lowest bid, which can be submitted for a vehicle. Bids under the minimum bid will not be accepted.

When will I receive an invoice?

As soon as an invoice is available for the vehicle which you have purchased successfully, you will be notified by email. The invoice will then be available for you to download in the “My Autobid.de” mailbox. You can reach this overview by clicking on the “Mailbox” menu item.

I haven’t received an invoice yet. Why is this?

You should generally be able to find an invoice directly in your mailbox at the end of the entire auction for the vehicle on which you have placed a successful bid. If you have activated the autobid.de delivery service, please check whether this vehicle needs a decision by you by using the lorry symbol in the vehicle description in My Autobid.de – Transport & Collection in the “Generate order” menu item. After your decision on the delivery service, an invoice can be issued to your mailbox.

What documentation do I need for collection?

If you have placed a successful bid for a vehicle online, the collection slip will be ready for you under the “Mailbox” menu item, as soon as the invoice amount has been received in our account. The dispatch of the collection slip can in some cases also take a longer period of time. You can find more detailed information on this in the relevant vehicle description under “Vehicle release”. Please note: in online auctions all the vehicles you have bought at the auction must first be paid for from an auction before you will receive the collection slip.

Collection slips entitle you to collect the vehicles you have bought at auction. Please contact the person stated on the collection slip one working day before collection of the vehicle. Important: if you are not collecting the vehicle yourself, please grant another person or the freight forwarding company authority. The authorised person requires his identity document and a copy of the granting of authority.
If you have given instructions for a vehicle to be delivered via the autobid.de delivery service, then you don’t need to draw up authorisation for collection of the vehicle.
